The Krane has been realized by contractor Klaus Kastbjerg in cooperation with architect Mads Møller from Arcgency and is created from the idea of giving visitors an immersive, multi-sensory experience intensified by the views of the ocean, the sky, the harbour and the panoramic view over Copenhagen.

The Krane is furnished with Danish high-end brands within lifestyle and design. All carefully selected for their signature style, high quality and craftsmanship. The old crane is entered by stairs, moving from zone to zone. The ‘Glass Box' meeting room comes first. From the large glass cage, you are able to enjoy the view of both Nordhavn and Oresund. The decor is kept simple with black furniture as a beautiful contrast to the long, bright Douglas flooring planks.

On the second floor, there is an exclusive spa area with a sauna and two bathtubs, from where visitors can enjoy both the views and good conversation. At the top, the crane’s old control house has been transformed into the suite 'Krane Room' with its own lounge and terrace cladded with Dinesen Douglas Outdoor Planks.

The interior of the suite is held exclusively in black shades as a tribute to the history of the old crane that was once used for loading coal. The black look ensures that visitors are not distracted by the interior, but can focus on the unique view.

The selection of materials, bespoke solutions and sense of detail throughout The Krane reflect an understated elegance which includes only the essentials. Steel, wood and leather elegantly tie the project together. Both walls, ceilings and floors are covered with Dinesen Douglas planks which have been finished with a custom-made ‘Megablack’ oil to help emphasize the intense look of the suite.
