Since 1987, the Danish gallery owner Mikael Andersen has been running a gallery with
Danish and international contemporary art. In 2007 he opened up another gallery – this
time in a closed down brewery in Berlin. After extensive renovation, the building on
Prenzlauer Berg now accommodates both a gallery, an artist’s home with studio and
the private residence of Mikael Andersen.
The residence is situated across from the gallery and is decorated with Scandinavian
design. In the apartment you also find Mikael Andersen’s collection of mainly German,
Danish, Japanese and South African art, plus a large collection of West Germany Ceramics from the 1960s.
