From 1959 until the mid 1970s, Montmartre attracted international stars like Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon and Stan Getz, and in the last couple of years, world-class jazz has returned to the intimate venue in Copenhagen.
A distinctive element of the decor is Dinesen oak floors in HeartOak, which lends a warmambience to the jazz club. The exceptionally wide Dinesen oak planks provide a very rustic, authentic expression. Natural cracks have been preserved and locked with butterfly joints of oak. This unique detail is not only present in the solid oak floor but also in the stage floor and the bar counter.
”One senses the gravity behind the growth of century-old oaks in these floors, which command respect and set the mood for the entire room”.
– Rune Bech, owner of Jazz House Montmartre
The audience capacity is only about 100 people, so this intimate venue brings audience and musicians into close contact and offers unique concert experiences.
