It is no secret that surplus materials are discarded on a daily basis because they do not fit into a standardized production process. However, these materials still have a high level of quality, a unique, unpolished character and potentials that are worth exploring.
In a collaboration between the Aarhus School of Architecture, NEW AARCH and the companies of Kvadrat, Sørensen Leather, Zurface and Dinesen, the first material bank in Aarhus is now launched: Bank of Materials (BOM).
BOM collects surplus materials from the companies in the partnership and makes them available to people who wish to enter into a collaboration and use the materials in creative projects.
BOM is a bank where the value is social, and the currency is materials. The goal is to exchange knowledge and inspiration to promote insight into the creative processes and good stories that take form in the working process.
