Architect and founder of the Slovakian architecture firm Atrium Architekti designed the dream home for himself and his family. Over a period of three years, ideas became drawings, and drawings became reality. Today, the finished house is the minimalist and expressive home of a family of three.

DOMM House is a unique modular house constructed from prefab building elements with exposed steel and concrete features complementing the interior design and spatial architecture.
The house stands in stark contrast to the surrounding buildings with an expressive and minimalist style that is consistently evident both indoors and out – a deliberate choice by the architect.
The property is located near a wood on a very sloping plot. This setting defined the basic parameters of the building’s architecture. Towards the street, it appears as one-storey single-family home, but approached from the back garden, it reveals itself as a two-storey structure on the sloping terrain.
DOMM House is the minimalist home of a family of three. The design aimed to minimize the dimensions while maximizing the influx of light. The modular structure is carefully planned to create a symmetrical form, from the brick facing to the concrete wall cladding, the load-bearing steel columns and the wooden floors in Dinesen Douglas.
A key goal for Atrium Architekti was to ensure a coherent expression between interior and exterior at the horizontal plane but also on the vertical dimension, with the Douglas timber continuing up from the floor of the combined kitchen and family room to the vertical exteriors of the kitchen units.
One of Atrium Architekti’s key goals is to create family dwellings with inherent qualities that promote health and quality of life. DOMM House is a prime example of this ambition. See more projects from Atrium Architekti.
