The Hammer Museum in Los Angeles has undergone a major transformation. To expand the range of exhibitions and collections, the museum has renovated the third-floor galleries with more than 1,700 m2 Dinesen Oak planks forming an elegant setting for the art.

As a dynamic visual arts institution and cultural center, the Hammer Museum presents major single-artist and thematic exhibitions of historical and contemporary art. Furthermore, the museum is known for its diverse range of more than 300 public programs a year, including performances, lectures, film screenings and readings.
The modernized and improved third-floor galleries have been designed by renowned architecture firm and longtime Hammer partner, Michael Maltzan Architecture. The new design features higher ceilings, state-of-the-art LED lighting, reconfigured skylights that maximize the use of natural light and solid Dinesen Oak plank floors. The discrete lines of the long and wide oak planks help expand the rooms while at the same time directing visual attention to the art on display.
