Perched above a beautiful garden upstream from the centre of Berlin, just before Köpenick, Penthouse B sits atop a historic Gründerzeit villa. Below, a private boat dock offers direct access to the world, while above, a wraparound terrace invites meditative walks among the treetops.

The apartment is light and open, creating a continuous sense of flow. Its layout provides residents with multiple pathways, with the removal of select interior walls enabling a more fluid and spacious design.
The newly created spatial typology allows residents to move through the apartment along different routes, with rooms divided by floor-to-ceiling flush doors that are seamlessly integrated into the walls, free of visible door frames, resulting in a clean and serene atmosphere.
Three structures have been introduced into the open central zone, housing the utility room, guest and master showers, and a washer/dryer. The colours of the structures are inspired by the lush green of the treetops and the blue-grey of the rippling, slightly shimmering surface of the River Spree, bringing the hues of the surrounding natural elements directly into the heart of the apartment.
The apartment’s layout creates cross-views throughout the space. To further enhance the sense of flow, all room doors are floor-to-ceiling and positioned directly along the exterior walls. This design provides clear sightlines along the outer walls, even in private areas, revealing the apartment’s full depth. As a result, the central zone of the apartment seamlessly extends beyond the exterior, allowing the space to expand outward.
The warm texture and exceptional dimensions of the Dinesen Douglas flooring extend throughout the apartment, enhancing the flow of space.
