The two-storey home was formerly a student flat and was in need of some attention. Jeremy decided to switch the functions of the two storeys, placing the kitchen and living room on the top floor, which offers a magnificent influx of light and a stunning view of London’s rooftops.

To create continuity and a warm expression in the small flat, Jeremy used Dinesen Douglas planks as the consistent element. The planks are also an essential aspect of the design, and their simple elegance makes the flat seem larger. The oak doors have been given the same finish as the floors to take on a light hue.

The clean expression is underscored with built-in bookcases and closets. The large closet wall in the living room contains a work space, which lets the room take on different functions throughout the day. Jeremy also designed a simple and floating panel wall with multiple functions. The wall has built-in surround sound speakers, and in combination with a projector, it acts as the family’s home cinema. On either side of the panel wall, a deep bookcase makes it possible to store the books somewhat out of sight, while the built-in lighting highlights the wooden floor. The niche for floral decorations is inspired by the Japanese interior design tradition.
