The Ranch is the oldest continuously operating ranch in the United States. Founded in 1658 and occupying 26 acres of land at the tip of the bucolic easternmost tip of Long Island, this large estate is home to a privately owned horse farm specializing in the training of cutting horses. Concurrently with the active farming operation the Ranch also serves as the primary exhibition venue for art dealer Max Levai. Flooring in Dinesen HeartOak planks forms a transition between gallery and horse farm.

The Ranch is located in Montauk, New York, on Long Island, known locally as ‘The End of the World’. Situated near America’s most iconic surf breaks and surrounded by horse trails, The Ranch is defined by its beautiful natural surroundings.
‘In the West Barn at The Ranch, our primary focus was creating a space that was perfectly neutral yet exciting for the artists and artwork we exhibited. Every decision made was rooted in creating a space that felt like it could have been there all along. Using materials that were true to the context was how we tried to achieve this. It was important that the gallery felt like a horse barn but more important that it felt like a gallery. Dinesen's planks were essential in trying to find this harmony.’
Next to the barns is a four-acre field dedicated to open-air art installations, outdoor sculptures and cultural projects. This field is also the location of the West Barn: a 418-square-metre renovated Carl Fisher barn with two distinct exhibition spaces, while a twin structure to the east has remained an active horse stable.
The flooring in the gallery is HeartOak planks, whose warm, calm expression contributes to the welcoming atmosphere of the room. Dinesen HeartOak lends a warm ambience to any room it occupies, the oak radiating quality and bringing a calm, unified expression that lets the art take centre stage.
