GrandPattern is a special option where large planks are laid in familiar historical patterns.
A modern solution with respect for history, which takes on a contemporary and exclusive appearance due to the proportions. You can form the patterns Squares, Bond, Mosaic, Chevron or a herringbone floor.
Solid planks laid in a herringbone pattern is a timeless solution. Choosing large dimensions in the individual oak planks takes the classic pattern to new heights with an impressive expression and an elegant look.
Dinesen Lye and Floor Soap White
Soap forms a membrane that protects the wood. Depending on usage, the floor needs to be washed with Dinesen Floor Soap two to four times a month in order to build up the soap membrane. Most dents will rise after washing, and repeated treatment will not be necessary. However, the floor does require commitment. We recommend that you give the floor a Dinesen Lye finish prior to the soap finish.
Towering up to 60 metres tall, Douglas is a tree that stands out. The grand expression is preserved in the planks, where the unique grain bears testimony to nature’s power and beauty.
We source our raw wood mainly from the Black Forest, and only the best of the 80 to 120-year-old trees have what it takes to get through the eye of the needle. It is this careful selection and the extraordinary craftsmanship that place Dinesen Douglas in a class of its own.
As an old family business, we appreciate the importance of planning for the future. Therefore, we only use raw wood from sustainable forestry where the stands are tended with the greatest care and respect for nature. We source most of our wood from Germany, but we also work with other European countries where forestry has been based on sustainable principles for centuries.
An important element of sustainable forestry is cutting down one tree at a time, thus giving the trees a chance to grow strong and live out their total capacity, before they are felled and ready to serve new purposes. That is sustainability in practice.
Our planks are very well suited for underfloor heating and we recommend installing it as a comfortable and durable solution.
About 80% of our projects are established with underfloor heating. We have years of experience with underfloor heating under solid floors, and it is an unproblematic solution, provided you adhere our instructions.
