It was love at first sight when a designer first set foot in the old two-storey flat in the heart of Stockholm. The flat needed extensive renovation, but she immediately spotted the chance to create a modern home in the original settings.
The designer decided to give each of the two floors their own unique expression: the elegant, relatively formal lower floor and the more casual upper floor. The home is characterised by a beautiful mix of classic design and personal details.
Throughout the flat, a clean and consistent style ties it all together. Floor mouldings and door jambs are painted black. That creates a coherent and sophisticated setting for the light floors made of Dinesen Oak. In the living room, the original dark ceiling has been preserved, which creates a cosy ambience in the large room and forms a beautiful contrast to the plain white walls.
